We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Visualization Engineer with a strong background in analytical tools, including Power BI, Tableau, Superset, and proficiency in developing customizable reports with Toucan. As a key member of our data analytics team, you will be responsible for translating complex data into visually appealing and actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Data Visualization Expertise: Design and develop advanced and interactive visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Power BI, Tableau, Superset, and Toucan. Apply your expertise in data visualization best practices and information design principles to effectively communicate complex data insights to stakeholders.
• Custom Report Development: Utilize your experience with Toucan to create customizable and user-friendly reports, allowing end-users to tailor views and explore data according to their specific needs.
• Complex Calculations and Derived Fields: Leverage your analytical prowess to work with complex data sets and develop sophisticated calculated and derived fields. Utilize data transformation techniques, advanced formulas, and conditional logic to generate meaningful insights from raw data.
• Data Exploration and Analysis: Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data structures, business requirements, and project objectives. Employ your analytical skills to explore data, identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for data-driven improvements.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for speed, efficiency, and interactivity, ensuring smooth user experiences and minimal loading times, even with complex calculations and large datasets.
• Data Integration and Connectivity: Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure seamless integration of various data sources into analytical tools, enabling real-time or near-real-time reporting.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of visualizations, reports, and dashboards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to best practices. Verify the accuracy of complex calculated and derived fields to provide reliable insights.
• Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for developed visualizations, reports, and calculations, and provide training to other team members on best practices, techniques, and tool functionalities.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in data visualization, analytical tools, and data analysis. Recommend relevant updates or enhancements to our existing infrastructure to ensure we stay at the forefront of data visualization capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Visualization Engineer or similar role with a focus on analytical tools like Power BI, Tableau, Superset, and Toucan.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing complex visualizations, dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate insights.
• Strong proficiency in developing complex calculated and derived fields to derive meaningful insights from raw data.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Solid programming skills in languages like SQL, Python, or R will be a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
